Trailside Inn is located in the central Iowa town of Madrid in scenic Boone County. We are a half-hour drive from Des Moines, Ames and Ankeny. Located one block from the nearest entrance to the High Trestle Trail, it is only a short 2 ½ mile ride to the famous High Trestle Trail Bridge over the Des Moines River Valley. The guest accommodations provides a good starting point to explore scenic Boone County including Ledges State Park, Seven Oaks Recreation for skiing and river floats, and the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad for tourist train rides.

Turn west onto 1st Street at the only stoplight in town. Go down a few blocks. Turn left onto Market Street (you will see St. John's Church). Go one block and turn left. The house is located right there at the corner of Market & 2nd.

About host
This beautiful home was built in 1902. It has had many wonderful years as a family home. In 2018, it was purchased and renovated into a bed and breakfast. Everything was completely redone and repurposed. They did a wonderful job of creating a thriving rental house business. In 2022, Matt and Joy purchased this business and plan to continue to operate it as the previous owners did.
