Things to Do in the Area
Madrid
The biggest attraction in our small town would definitely be the High Trestle Trail. Our property is located one block north of a trail head and 2 miles east of the infamous bridge. The trail is currently being expanded from Ankeny to Perry, with multiple towns along the way. We also are home to The Cellar Winery located just outside of town. They have many events and activities throughout the year. One of Madrid's biggest celebrations is the Labor Day Festival. It also hosts one of Iowa's largest car shows.
Slater
Located 5 miles east of us is the town of Slater. There is the perfect pool to help you cool off after a bike ride along the trail!
Granger
Granger is another small town located 9 miles south along highway 17. Outdoors & nature lovers would enjoy visiting Jester Park! There are also a couple of golf courses to test out the greens with.
Boone
Mid-July and late summer, Boone has different festivals to attend, such as the Boone County Fair and Pufferbilly Days. The town is only 15 minutes north of us! There's also a Walmart, multiple fast food restaurants, the train station, Seven Oaks Outdoor recreation for outdoor fun all year round.
Grimes
Located 12 miles south of Madrid, Grimes is a rapidly growing community with multiple restaurants, stores, and activities to check out.
